Care and Maintenance
We honor our designs with the highest quality of materials – insuring a product that will last for
generations.
Based on important criteria such as strength, durability, sustainability and long-lasting
beauty, all materials have been carefully chosen for each of our products.
The Klassik Studio products has soul. Natural materials such as wood, leather and marble will
always vary in color and structure – making each piece unique. Over time the appearance of the
products will change as they are affected by the environment in which they are placed. Our glass
and ceramic designs have been made by hand and small irregularities shall be embraced as the
charming part of a handcrafted product.
Leather
In Klassik Studio we use only high-quality leathers mainly delivered by Sorensen Leather. Our
standard leathers are aniline or semi-aniline leather, ensuring the natural beauty and elegance of
our products. The leather itself will quickly acquire a beautiful patina.
Maintenance:
Leather is a natural material. Like most natural materials, it does need some care and looking after
to ensure its long-lasting appeal year after year, generation after generation. A few simple tips will
help preserve the leather’s natural beauty and will make the leather look even more luscious over
time.
– Avoid placing the leather in direct sunlight or extreme heat
– Clean using the foam from soap flakes for housecleaning
– Avoid soaking the leather or any contact with sharp objects
– To absorb any spills, use a clean, dry cloth immediately
– To dust, use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush regularly
– NEVER use detergents, ammonia, oils, polish, varnish, etc.
Soap flake solution
1. Use a 1/2 deciliter of soap flakes to a liter of water. Whip the soap flakes into hot water
2. When the water becomes room temperature, the foam must be applied all over the leather
with a soft cloth. Only use the foam and avoid soaking the leather
3. When the leather is dry, polish it with a soft, dry cotton cloth
Fabric
The fabric and home textile industry is always developing. Colors, materials and design change
from time to time, and here at Klassik Studio we follow the trends but also respect traditions. With
many suppliers of high quality textiles such as Kvadrat and Dedar, we make sure that our
customers will have a wide range to choose from when ordering Klassik Studio products.
Maintenance:
All fabrics and textiles will fade over time when exposed to direct sunlight and other light sources.
Maintain the textile by vacuuming it regularly, using the upholstery nozzle, and remove stains
quickly to avoid permanent damage. Most stains can be removed using the lather from warm water
mixed with a small amount of neutral detergent. First, mop up any excess liquid from the textile
with a white paper towel. Then remove the stain by dabbing the textile carefully with a clean, lint-
free cloth dipped in the lather or a special textile cleanser. Avoid rubbing hard on the textile, as the
rubbing may damage the fabric and leave marks.
Wood
In Klassik Studio wood is one of the essential materials for our furniture production. Wood is an
amazing living material, and is part of the world’s vital ecological circuit. It takes around 150-250
years to grown an oak tree, and we believe that it is our duty to create high quality furniture, that
will last for many years.
Our products come in a series of different woods. We believe that the treatment of the wood
should maintain the natural structure of the surface and at the same time be able the withstand
demands of daily use.
Maintenance:
Avoid placing wooden furniture and objects in direct sunlight or close to heat sources, as this will
cause the wood to dry and fade. Hot or wet items should not be placed directly on the wood.
Soap finished wood
Wipe the wooden object with a dry and clean cloth. For cleaning and treatment use a clean cloth
and apply the foam from the soap flakes on the wood. Make sure to scrub with the grain. Do not
soak the wood, as this will damage the grain and the smooth surface of the wood.
