In 1958, Kurt Østervig designed this interesting “Tub Chair” also known as model 57A. The danish tub chair was introduced for the first time at the annual Købestævne in Fredericia, Denmark, and since then it became one of the most recognized and sought after designs by Kurt Østervig. Now, half a century after the first introduction, Klassik Studio has re-launched this original design.
The Tub Chair is a beautiful expression of Østervig’s understanding of upholstery and craftsmanship and a true designer tub chair. The sledge base, which is also known from various chairs by other renowned designers of this period, is made in oak and walnut. The seat shell can be upholstered in a large range of fabrics, leather and sheepskin, which allows you to customize the chair for any interior. The round shape forms the sloping armrests as well as the backrests, embracing the body comfortably. This danish tub chair immediately get’s attention no matter who sees it.
